What’s the limit of a 2 way speaker?
We decided to develop something that is beyond the limit. Push the concept of horn and 2 way to the extreme that we could think about. We wanted to have natural low frequencies without constraint for dimensions and weight.
There have been several obstacles along this way and we solved lots of them when we came in contact with field coil speakers.
Then we had to find a way to modularize the speaker to be able to move it and transport it without the need to issue a special transport... well, it is not that big, but the streets in Hölden are quite narrow.
During one weekend Thomas started the final assembly of the Wiki... until that time was still unsure how to name it. His wife came in the workshop and found Thomas in a strange construction, she asked if he decided to build a Viking ship, that Viking ship became afterwards the Wiki.
The Wiki will be available only on a limited quantity of 6 pairs per year with 6 months delivery time. On confirmed order at customer wish.Welche ist die Grenze mit einem 2-Wege Lautsprecher?
Wir haben beschlossen etwas zu entwickeln, das die diese Grenze alt ausschauen lässt. Das Konzept von Horn und 2 Wege hat sich dafür angeboten übertroffen zu werden. Wir haben uns keine Einschränkungen für Gewicht und Größe und das Ziel war unser üblicher, weiter zu entdecken.
Es gab viele Hürden auf diesem Weg und wir haben viele davon bestanden, als wir mit Feldspulen Chassis in Kontakt gekommen sind.
Dann ist modularität eine Vorgabe gewesen: wir haben nicht vor einen Tieflader für den Transport zu benutzen und dazu soll von 3 Menschen zu handhaben sein.
An einem Wochenende, als Thomas voll im Einsatz für den Endaufbau war, kam seine Frau in die Werkstatt und fragte, ob er nicht zufällig im Aufbau eines Wikinger Schiffs gerade befand: so ist der Namen entstanden, das Schiff war die Wiki.
Es wird eine winzige Serie sein, Wikis werden wir maximal 6 Paar per Jahr mit 6 Monate Lieferzeit und nur auf bestätigte Bestellung fertigen.Qual'è il limite di una cassa a 2 vie caricata a tromba?
Abbiamo deciso di sviluppare qualcosa che ci faccia dimenticare tutti i limiti. I limiti del progetto della cassa a 2 vie caricata a tromba andava superato. Abbiamo deciso di non porci limiti per peso e dimensioni e semplicemente di scoprire cose nuove.
Ci si sono presentati tanti ostacoli su questo cammino e molti sono stati superati quando abbiamo incontrato gli altoparlanti elettromagnetici.
Ci siamo imposti un'unica specifica tecnica: la modularità. Non ci andava di dover organizzare un trasporto eccezionale per la consegna eppoi il tutto doveva essere gestibile da 3 persone.
Durante un fine settimana, Thomas stava costruendo il prototipo finale. Sua moglie gli ha chiesto se avesse sviluppato una passione per vascelli vichinghi: così è nato il nome, il vascello altro non era che la Wiki.
La serie sarà estremamente ridotta. Produrremo un massimo di 6 coppie con 6 mesi di tempi di consegna, solo su ordine confermato.- Specification
